Privacy Policy
Check My Well is designed to make public well records easier to use while limiting collection and sharing of personal information to what is needed to operate and improve the service.

1. Property checks
When you search a property, Check My Well may process the entered address, approximate coordinates, province, search radius, public well-record results and basic interaction events needed to produce, secure and improve the service. Public well-record information comes from government or other public sources and is not personal information supplied by you.
2. Buyer reports, Record Rescue and payments
If you purchase a buyer report, Check My Well stores the property and report data needed to generate and redeliver that order. If you purchase Record Rescue, Check My Well stores the submitted property address, your name and email, optional research clues, payment status and the resulting fulfillment record needed to manually research and deliver the service.
Payment card information is handled by Stripe and is not stored by Check My Well. Check My Well may retain payment status, order identifiers, customer email, transaction metadata and delivery or notification status for fulfillment, accounting, fraud prevention and support.
3. Realtor Pro accounts
Realtor Pro may collect and store the agent's name, email, phone number, brokerage, market, uploaded logo, private account token, subscription status, Stripe customer and subscription references, saved property research, optional client names and internal property notes. This information is used to provide the professional workspace, generate branded reports, enforce plan usage, manage billing status and support the account.
Agents are responsible for having appropriate authority to enter client names or transaction notes into Realtor Pro. Check My Well does not require sensitive client information for a report; optional notes should be limited to information reasonably needed for the property workflow.
4. Realtor Pro billing and sign-in
Stripe processes Realtor Pro subscription payments and billing-portal activity. Check My Well stores Stripe identifiers and subscription status but not full card numbers. Realtor Pro uses private access links rather than a reusable password. A sign-in link grants account access and should be treated as confidential. Email sign-in can be used to obtain a fresh private link.
5. Contractor match requests
If you request contractor matches, Check My Well collects the contact information and project details you submit. Before a lead is claimed, approved contractors may see limited project type, timing and service-area context. Exact property information and homeowner contact details are released only after a successful claim, up to the contractor limit shown for that lead. Contractor partners may pay Check My Well for access to qualified requests.
6. Contractor applications
Contractor applications may include business and contact details, service areas, provinces and services. This information is used to review applications, operate the contractor portal and route matching leads.
7. Support and privacy requests
If you contact Check My Well, we collect the information you submit, such as your name, email, order number, request category and message. This information is used to respond to the request and maintain an operational record of support or privacy inquiries.
8. First-party analytics
Check My Well operates its own first-party analytics to understand traffic, referral sources and how the product is used. Analytics may include a randomly generated visitor identifier, session identifier, page path, referring site path, UTM campaign tags, device category, coarse country or region when supplied by an upstream network provider, and product events such as a successful property check, report-checkout start, contractor-request submission or Realtor Pro checkout start.
The analytics table does not store raw visitor IP addresses, searched property addresses, names, email addresses, phone numbers, payment card details, report access tokens or private portal tokens. Analytics records are retained for up to approximately 400 days and are used for aggregate business and product reporting. Check My Well respects supported browser Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals by disabling the browser analytics tracker when those signals are enabled.
9. Local browser storage
The site may use browser local storage for anonymous analytics visitor/session identifiers, private Realtor Pro and contractor portal access, and administrative access on the device being used. Clearing browser data removes locally stored values. Do not use shared devices for private portal or administrative access.
10. Service providers
Check My Well uses service providers to operate the product. These may include Railway for hosting and persistent application storage, Stripe for payment processing, Resend for transactional email, mapping and geocoding providers, and provincial or territorial public-data services. These providers process information under their own service terms and privacy practices as applicable.
11. Sharing and disclosure
Check My Well does not sell personal information to advertisers. Information may be shared with service providers that help operate the service, with approved contractors as described above when a homeowner has consented to contractor matching, or when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and security, investigate abuse or complete a business transaction subject to applicable law. Realtor Pro client names and saved-property notes are not shared with contractors merely because they are stored in a Realtor Pro account. Record Rescue details are used to fulfill the requested research service and are not routed to contractors unless the customer separately submits and consents to a contractor-match request.
12. Retention and security
Records are retained only as long as reasonably needed for fulfillment, professional account history, support, analytics, fraud prevention, accounting, legal obligations and legitimate business operations. Transaction records may be retained as required for tax or accounting purposes. Check My Well uses access controls, signed payment webhooks, private report and portal tokens, restricted contractor access and other reasonable safeguards appropriate to the service. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
13. Your choices and privacy rights
You can use the core property checker without submitting a contractor request or creating Realtor Pro. Contractor matching requires explicit consent. Realtor Pro subscribers can cancel billing through Stripe without deleting their saved history. You may also clear browser storage or use supported Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track settings to prevent the first-party browser analytics tracker from running. To request access, correction or deletion of personal information, or to ask a privacy question, use the contact and support form and choose “Privacy / data request.” Check My Well will handle requests in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy law.
14. Children
Check My Well is intended for property research and professional services and is not directed to children. Do not knowingly submit a child’s personal information through contractor, professional or support forms.
15. Not a government service
Check My Well is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by a provincial, territorial or federal government.
16. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the service, data sources or providers change. The current version and update date will remain available on this page.
